5/12/2008 - Lafayette's First and Goal Football Camp

Dear Coaches,

This is a mass email to ask for your help and give an update on Lauren’s First and Goal Football Camp.   The camp will be held Sunday June 1st at Lafayette College’s Metzgar Athletic Complex from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp is a one day charity event that is named in honor of my eleven year old daughter who has been fighting brain tumors since the age of two. The minimum donation is 25 dollars per athlete and the camp is open to students entering grades 9 through 12 in the fall.   All proceeds benefit Lauren’s First and Goal foundation which is a 501c3 charitable organization created to raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research and support local pediatric cancer services.

Long time defensive coordinator and coaching legend Jerry Sandusky will serve as our guest speaker this year at the lunch time break.   Just like last year we have over 200 volunteer college coaches signed up to coach at the charity event.

Everyone wins at the camp. The athletes are coached by and gain exposure to many college coaches in one location, the college coaches have the opportunity to work with prospective student athletes, and all the money goes toward a great cause. Players are divided into small groups by position and age for offensive and defensive instruction. The camper to coach ratio is approximately 8 to 1. Rising seniors come from all over the northeast because college coaches all receive information on every rising senior at the camp.   High school coaches are encouraged to attend as well. It is a great free clinic and you will have an opportunity to make contact with many college coaches to sell your prospects.

Click here to download a copy of the application and please make copies for your athletes. The number one way kids find out about the camp is through the high school coach.   The foundation and camp web site is http://laurensfirstandgoal.org which gives a lot more information. If you are bringing a group and have not contacted me please do so we can check your kids in as a group the morning of the camp. The camp is less than three weeks away so please have your kids pre-register ASAP.

Thank you for all your help and I hope to see you at the camp.

Sincerely,

John Loose
